Juniperus procumbens 'Nana', commonly known as Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper, is a popular, low-growing evergreen shrub widely used as a ground cover and for bonsai. It is valued for its dense, mat-forming habit and attractive blue-green, prickly foliage.

• Growth Habit: A prostrate, mat-forming, and slow-growing plant with trailing branches that spread horizontally. It typically grows 6 to 12 inches (15-30 cm) tall and spreads 5 to 6 feet (1.5-1.8 m) wide.
• Foliage: The evergreen foliage consists of small, spiny, awl-shaped needles that are blue-green and appear in whorls of three. The needles may take on a slightly purplish hue in the winter.
