Bonsai Seed Planting Instructions
1. Prepare the Seeds
Place the seeds in a container of lukewarm water and allow the water to cool naturally. Let the seeds soak for 24 hours.
2. Prepare the Pot
Place the gauze over the drainage hole. Fill the bonsai pot with the growing soil, leaving about 2 cm below the rim. Place the soaked seed on top of the soil and lightly cover it with a thin layer of soil. Press down gently.
3. Watering
Water the pot until water begins to drain out of the hole. Avoid watering too fast to ensure the seed is not washed out. Keep the soil consistently damp, not soaked.
4. Positioning the Pot
Place the pot in a bright, sunny area, but avoid a windowsill with direct, harsh sunlight, as excessive heat may kill the seed. Aim for 4 to 6 hours of indirect or gentle sunlight each day.
5. Early Growth
Once the seed germinates and the seedling grows to 5–10 cm, you can begin gentle shaping.
Allow the young plant to grow steadily; patience is key with bonsai.
6. Training Your Bonsai
As branches develop, start shaping by pinching off the growing tips. Keep the lower branches longer and gently shorten the top branches to encourage a natural bonsai shape.
